Light to moderate rains likely to prevail over PHL until Thursday

Light to moderate rains may prevail over most parts of the archipelago until Thursday.

In its 24-hour forecast, state weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) expects cloudy skies with light rains over Cordillera and Ilocos regions, Batanes and Calayan islands.

Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Mindanao.

Visayas may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

PAGASA said the low pressure area (LPA) was last spotted at about 170 km west of Ambulong, Tanauan City, Batangas.

Northeast monsoon is still affecting extreme northern Luzon.

Thunderstorm currently affecting Mindoro and portions of northern Samar and Romblon, and the light to moderate rains affecting Aklan, Antique and Negros Occidental may last at around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Meanwhile, PAGASA cited that moderate to strong winds will blow from northeast over Luzon, and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Light to moderate winds coming from east to northeast, on the other hand, will prevail over Visayas and Mindanao with slight to moderate seas.
