Ten University of Baguio athletes to compete in Malaysia

MANILA, March 31 (PNA) -- Ten athletes from the University of Baguio (UB) will represent the country in the archery and 3-on-3 basketball tournaments to be held simultaneously from April 12 to 16 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Loren Chloe Balaoing and Shanaya Rose Dangla will compete in the 1st Asian University Archery Championship while Cedric Tolentino, Reniel Allan Doral, Alfir Quinones, Ismael Khan Muhammad, Briquel Jane Garcia, Cheryl Ann Magno, Cristy Grace Ramilo and Janine Orca are carrying the national colors in the 3rd Asian University 3-on-3 Basketball Championships.

The coaches in basketball are Joel Flores (men) and Mary Hazel Yambot (women).

The Malaysian University Sports Council (MASUM) under the supervision of Secretary General Mustaza Ahmad is organizing the two tournaments which are sanctioned by the Asian University Sports Federation.

The Philippines will compete under the banner of the Federation of School Sports Association of the Philippines (FESSAP), which is a member of the International University Sports Federation (FISU).

FESSAP officials have been coordinating with UB President Dhanna Kerina B. Rodas, Vice President Atty. Rommel Ayson, executive secretary Mardie Yabot and athletic director Allan Elegado regarding the preparation of the six athletes going to Malaysia. (PNA)
