DOJ under flexible working arrangement during ECQ

MANILA – It will be business as usual under flexible arrangement at the Department of Justice (DOJ) and National Prosecution Service (NPS) offices in Metro Manila during the period of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) from Aug. 6 to 20, unless Malacañang orders otherwise.

Secretary Menardo Guevarra said they are awaiting instructions on the working arrangement during ECQ.

“We are awaiting any special instructions from the Office of the President. If no directive is issued, I will take it to mean that all DOJ personnel will work from home during the ECQ, except a skeleton staff to man the frontline to receive documents,” Guevarra told reporters via text message on Tuesday.

“The NPS will do e-inquests,” he added.

As of July, 400 out of 818 employees of the DOJ main office in Manila have been vaccinated against Covid-19 — 134 already with full doses and 266 awaiting a second dose.

Ninety-eight DOJ employees have contracted Covid-19 including 80 this year, two of whom died. (PNA)
