PH completes procurement of 13M Moderna doses

The arrival of 150,540 doses of the Moderna Covid 19 vaccine on Friday, the first shipment to the country this year, completed the government’s procurement of 13 million doses.

Seven million doses were also procured by the private sector.

Department of Health Undersecretary Dr. Teodoro Herbosa, who inspected the shipment delivered via China Airlines Flight CI701, said the government is also expected to receive lower-dosed Pfizer jabs for the 5 to 11 age group middle of January.

He likewise reminded the public that booster shots can already be availed of three months after the second dose or two months after the single-dose Janssen jabs.

“All those who were vaccinated October 7 or earlier, you can go to local government unit to get your booster shots,” Herbosa, also the National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid-19 special medical adviser, said in an interview at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

As of December 31, a total of 108,853,491 doses were administered to more than 61 million Filipinos nationwide, with 49.8 million already fully vaccinated and 1.84 million with booster doses, according to NTF data.
