The Caraga region recorded 389 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections on Thursday, the highest single-day record of cases in the region this month.
“With the new infections, Caraga region now has a total of 51,656 Covid-19 cases,” the Department of Health (DOH) 13 (Caraga) said in its report on Friday.
A total of 197 new recoveries were also recorded on Thursday, bringing the total number of recoveries in the region to 47,574.
Caraga has 2,168 active cases as of Friday, with 1,914 deaths as six newly-recorded Covid-19-related deaths were logged on Thursday.
Among the provinces, Agusan del Sur recorded the highest number of new cases with 110, Surigao del Norte (51), Agusan del Norte (31), Surigao del Sur (12), and the Province of Dinagat Islands (1).
A total of 118 new infections were also recorded Thursday in Butuan City, 39 in Bayugan, 12 in Cabadbaran, 10 in Surigao, four in Bislig, and one in Tandag.
The agency also added that as of January 19, a total of 1,193,446 individuals in the region have been fully vaccinated. (PNA)
