533K individuals now fully vaxxed in Zamboanga region

The Department of Health (DOH) 9 (Zamboanga Peninsula) announced that 533,805 individuals have been fully vaccinated since the vaccination program was rolled out in the region in March.

Data released by the DOH-9 on Friday showed that the fully vaccinated individuals represented 26.32 percent of the 1,910,979 persons eligible for inoculation.

The data showed that most of those fully vaccinated were individuals with comorbidities belonging to the A3 priority group, with 261,093 vaccinees.

The remaining fully vaccinated individuals are the following: senior citizens (A2), 107,501; front-liners in the essential sector (A4), 94,411; front-line health care workers (A1), 53,130; and indigents (A5), 17,670.

The DOH-9 data also showed that 14,292 individuals classified under the Expanded A1 priority group were among those fully vaccinated. They are made up of outbound overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and immediate family members of the A1 priority group.

“Whatever vaccines are available in your health centers, let’s not hesitate to be vaccinated,” Dr. Mary Germeyn Durias-Punzalan said in a statement Friday.

Meanwhile, the DOH-9 said 538,928 individuals representing 28.2 percent of the eligible population have received their first dose of vaccine in the region.

Majority of those who got their first dose belonged to the A4 priority group with 175,802, and followed by A3 with 152,693.

The rest are as follows: 76,995, A2; 56,049, A5; 54,831, A1; and 22,558, expanded A1.

The inoculation activities are ongoing in the various vaccination sites in the region, the DOH-9 said.
