801 cops in NegOcc fully vaccinated vs. Covid-19

Some 801 personnel of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

Data as of Tuesday showed that the number is part of the 1,062 uniformed and non-uniformed personnel who received the jabs through the Provincial Health Office and the various local government units (LGUs). The remaining 261 have received the first dose.

Lt. Abegael Donasco, officer-in-charge of the NOCCPO Public Information Office, said they have asked for support from the provincial government for vaccine provisions for the personnel at the provincial headquarters here.

Donasco, who has not been vaccinated yet, said Col. Romy Palgue, police provincial director, is not also among those inoculated.

Out of a total of 2,176 NOCPPO personnel, 1,114 are still unvaccinated.

Palgue earlier said since the Philippine National Police (PNP) does not have its own Covid-19 vaccine supply yet for personnel in all 31 stations in Negros Occidental, police officers avail of the shots provided by the LGUs.

“If the LGU or the local chief executive offers the vaccines, that’s the time the police get themselves vaccinated,” he added.

Vaccines received by the NOCPPO personnel include Johnson&Johnson’s single-dose Janssen, Sinovac’s CoronaVac, AstraZeneca, and Pfizer-BioNTech jabs.
