A continued decrease of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections has been monitored in the region, the Department of Health in Caraga (DOH-13) reported Monday.
Data from the DOH-13 indicated a total of 284 new recoveries were recorded as of Sunday night in the region, bringing the cumulative total of recoveries to 5,291.
With the huge number of recoveries, the DOH-13 said active cases in the region are down to 983.
Also on Sunday, 46 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the region.
With the new cases, the cumulative number of infections in the region now stands at 58,277.
Of the new infections, 11 were reported in Agusan del Sur, nine in Surigao del Sur, four each in Agusan del Norte and Surigao del Norte, and one in the province of Dinagat Islands.
Among cities in the region, nine new cases were recorded here, four in Surigao, and two each in Bayugan and Cabadbaran.
The total number of Covid-19 related deaths in Caraga stands at 2,003 with one new death recorded on Sunday.
