Bacolod cops seize P3.2-M ‘shabu’ in November

Drug enforcement teams of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) have confiscated PHP3.211 million worth of suspected shabu during various operations in November.

Col. Thomas Joseph Martir, acting city police director, commended the operating units and personnel for their accomplishments and efforts to lessen criminality.

Data released on Thursday showed the recovery included 472.308 grams of shabu valued at a standard drug price of PHP6,800 per gram.

From Nov. 1 to 30, personnel of the City Drug Enforcement Unit and various police stations conducted 50 operations that resulted in the arrest of 69 drug personalities.

These included three high-value individuals, 63 street-level individuals, and three minors.

Some 79 cases were filed against the suspects in court for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Last month, among the BCPO’s major hauls included PHP816,800 worth of shabu during a buy-bust in Purok Kabulakan 1, Barangay Singcang-Airport on November 30.

Others included PHP2.04 million of the same prohibited substance seized during a sting operation in Purok Dalawidaw, Barangay 16 on Nov. 25, and PHP639,000 worth of shabu recovered in Gonzaga Subdivision, Barangay Villamonte on November 23.
