Caraga records 110 new Covid-19 cases

The Department of Health (DOH) 13 (Caraga) reported 110 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections in the region as of Wednesday night.

In a statement Thursday, the DOH-13 said the region now has a cumulative total of 49,651 Covid-19 cases.

Of the new cases recorded, 39 were reported in Butuan City while 47 were from the province of Agusan del Sur.

Both Butuan City and Agusan del Sur have been placed under Alert Level No. 3 by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases from January 14 to 31.

The other new infections recorded in the region included Surigao del Sur with eight, Agusan del Norte (7), Bayugan City (5), Surigao del Norte (3), and Surigao City (1).

“With the 110 new infections, Caraga Region has a total of 420 active cases,” the DOH-13 said.

With seven new recoveries also reported on Wednesday, the region now has a total of 47,330 recoveries since the pandemic started in March 2020.

Covid-19 related deaths in Caraga also increased to 1,901 with two new deaths reported on the same day.
