Chinese kidnap victim rescued, 6 nabbed in Las Piñas

Authorities have rescued three persons including two Chinese nationals and arrested six suspected kidnappers in an operation in Las Piñas City, the National Capital Region Police (NCRPO) said on Wednesday.

Based on the report submitted by the Southern Police District (SPD), Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr., chief of NCRPO, identified the suspects as Xing Juntao, a 32-year-old Chinese national and residing in Pasay City, and his cohorts Michael Vargas, 24, of Catmon, Malabon City; Ellerie Javier, 40, of Santol Tanza Cavite; Elson Obligar, 38, of Calamba City; Ronald Desuasido of Lipa City, Batangas, and Marianette Salazar of Imus, Cavite.

Danao commended the SPD and Las Piñas City cops for immediate response to rescue the victims identified as Huang Xiao Long and Liang Bo Da, both Chinese nationals, and Krizia Estrillia.

“The trust and confidence of the reporting witness in their police was key in the successful rescue of the victims and the arrest of the alleged perpetrators. Keep up the good work and congratulations for a job well done,” Danao said in a statement.

SPD Director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg said the rescue operation stemmed from information received by Las Piñas City Police that two Chinese nationals and a Filipino were forcibly taken by heavily armed men and dragged inside a white Toyota Grandia (NAR 721) around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Jamili said the three were held captive at 501 Pilar Development Corporation Xin Chuang Bldg., Brgy. Almanza Uno, Las Piñas City.

Authorities recovered four guns and ammunition from the suspects.

The suspects will be charged with the violation of Article 267 (kidnapping and serious illegal detention) of the Revised Penal Code.
