The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) on Friday started to prohibit large social gatherings and activities in this Freeport until January 31 in response to the rising cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
An advisory issued by the CDC stated that all social gatherings of three or more persons are not allowed within the Clark Parade Grounds, open areas, and other parks in the Freeport.
Moreover, only fully vaccinated persons are allowed to do individual physical activities such as walking, jogging, and biking, among others.
Other standard health protocols issued by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) will still be applied in the freeport.
Tourism-related establishments in Clark were also directed to only accept fully-vaccinated individuals at 50 percent capacity for indoors and 70 percent capacity for outdoors.
Minors who are not qualified for vaccination are also strictly prohibited within the zone.
CDC president and chief executive officer Manuel R. Gaerlan said they are taking additional measures to ensure the safety of all stakeholders in the freeport amid the rise of Covid-19 cases in the country.
“The public is enjoined to cooperate and exercise self-restraint as Clark Development Corporation endeavors to keep Clark Covid-free and the business in the zone vibrant. Mag-ingat po tayong lahat,” Gaerlan said in a statement.
Earlier, the CDC urged its workers, locators, and visitors to remain vigilant and to keep adhering to minimum health standards amid the emergence of the Omicron strain in the country.
The state-owned firm also reiterated the importance of wearing face masks, proper handwashing, and physical distancing to prevent the spread of the virus.
