The Ilocos Police Regional Office (PRO-1) has a new three-story multi-purpose building donated by Smart Communications Inc.
In an interview on Thursday, PRO-1 information officer, Lt. Col. Abubakar Mangelen Jr., said the building worth PHP8 million was built within the PRO-1 premises here and conformed with the requirements of the approved building type.
“The building may be used as an additional office space and emergency medical facility especially now that we are still facing the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic,” he said.
He added the building is a testament to the company’s commitment to reciprocate the support of its patrons and give back to society as its corporate social responsibility.
“PRO-1 is not the only beneficiary as it would also benefit the community,” Mangelen said.
Meanwhile, Ilocos Police regional director, Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Peralta, thanked Smart Communications for the donation.
“This will surely boost the morale of our police personnel who are putting their lives at risk to do our mandate of serving and protecting the public,” Peralta said in his message during the signing of the deed of donation.
