Police and anti-narcotics agents have arrested two suspects and seized PHP534 million worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Mandaluyong City, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported on Wednesday.
In a statement, PDEA spokesperson Derrick Carreon said that suspects Mike Abac, 32, and Edison de Guzman, 37, both residents of Guadalupe Nuevo, Makati City, were arrested at a condominium unit at around 6 p.m. Monday.
During the operation, the authorities seized 77.5 kilograms of shabu, some of which were placed inside red Chinese tea bags, estimated to be worth PHP534.75 million, various drug paraphernalia, and a mobile phone.
The suspects will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 while the pieces of evidence seized in the operation were brought to PDEA for documentation.
