Most of PH experience cloudy skies, rains due to ITCZ

MANILA – A huge part of the country will experience cloudy skies and rains due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) affecting southern Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao, a weather forecaster said Friday.

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol region, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Isabela, Aurora, Bulacan, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

“The rest of Luzon will have fair weather, with chances of sudden rains due to thunderstorms,” Aldczar Aurelio of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

He added that partly cloudy to cloudy skies will prevail over the rest of the country. Isolated rain showers are also likely due to thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will continue to prevail over the entire archipelago.

Aurelio said no low pressure area and weather disturbance are currently being monitored both inside and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. (PNA)
