A 35-year-old suspected car thief, tagged as the most wanted person of Mabalacat City, Pampanga, was arrested in a manhunt operation on Thursday.
In a report, Col. Robin Sarmiento, acting director of the Pampanga Police Provincial Office, identified the arrested suspect as Angel Reuben Capitly, a resident of Lourdes Sur East, Angeles City, this province.
Sarmiento said Capitly was nabbed at the Hann Casino and Resort Clark Freeport in Mabalacat City by joint elements of the Mabalacat City Police and 302nd Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3 based on a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Mary Jane H. Dacara-Buenaventura of Regional Trial Court Branch 43, City of San Fernando, Pampanga for violation of Republic Act 10883 (New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016), with a recommended bail of PHP180,000.
He said the suspect is under the custody of the Mabalacat City Police while pertinent documents are being prepared pending his presentation to the court.
“This significant accomplishment reflects the intensified police operations of Pampanga Police Provincial Office throughout the Yuletide season as the police force sustains its unrelenting efforts to prevent the lawless elements from doing their nefarious activities in the community,” he said.
