PSA pilots online appointment system in Pangasinan, La Union

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is now fully implementing the online appointment system for Civil Registration Services (CRS) in the provinces of La Union and Pangasinan in the Ilocos Region.

In a virtual press conference on Thursday, La Union CRS outlet supervisor Joseph Estoesta said they no longer have to accept walk-in clients, except for emergency cases, in securing birth, marriage, and death certificates, authentications, and certificates of no marriage (CENOMAR) in the CRS outlets in San Fernando City, La Union, and Calasiao town, Pangasinan.

“We have started the CRS online appointment system on Dec. 20, 2021, but we still accept walk-in clients at that time but we have disseminated the information, and is now in full implementation in these two outlets,” he said.

He added the CRS outlets in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur, and Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, along with all other outlets in the entire country, will implement the online appointment system next month.

Estoesta said residents of La Union and Pangasinan who would want to acquire birth, marriage, and death certificates, authentications, and CENOMAR should access the appointment.psa.gov.ph website and click the CRS appointment system.

“They should click the ‘agree’ option for the privacy notice and terms and conditions and then click the next button. Choose the preferred CRS outlet and click the next button and set your appointment,” he said.

Estoesta said confirmation of the appointment will be sent via email along with the quick response (QR) code, which should be printed or screenshot in digital form, and be presented at the CRS outlet on the set date and time of appointment.

He said the system was designed in response to the ongoing pandemic to regulate the number of people in the CRS outlets, as well as the automation of appointments.

Ilocos Sur CRS supervisor Karen Tamayo said the document owner or the authorized representative should bring a valid identification card.

“They should come early ahead of their scheduled time on their appointed day,” she said in the same forum.

Minors are not allowed to book an appointment, while an authorized representative is only allowed to request for two unrelated individuals to prevent fixers.

“Securing an appointment is free of charge and CRS appointment slip is non-transferrable,” Tamayo said.

She said the fee for issuance, authentication, and annotation of birth, marriage, and a death certificate is still at PHP155 per copy, while the CENOMAR is at PHP210 per copy.
