Tel aviv: The Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv has successfully facilitated the safe exit of 19 more Filipinos, including two children, from Israel. The group traveled overland and crossed into Egypt via the Taba Border Crossing, as reported by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
According to Philippines News Agency, once the group crossed into Taba, Egypt, they were promptly received by personnel from the Philippine Embassy in Cairo and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Rapid Response Team. This latest batch made their crossing on March 29 and is expected to return to Manila on Wednesday.
The DFA stated on Tuesday that Filipinos in Israel who wish to return to the Philippines can contact the embassy for assistance through a provided online form. Since the conflict with Iran began on February 28, a total of 167 individuals, including caregivers, hotel workers, minor dependents, tourists, pilgrims, and students, have been assisted by the embassy in their departure from Israel.
Based on the latest data from the DFA, the government has facilitated the repatriation of at least 838 nationals from various countries in the Middle East who do not fall under the category of overseas Filipino worker (OFW).
