Two drug peddlers were killed and 16 others were arrested in relentless anti-illegal drug operations conducted in this province Thursday and Friday.
Col. Emma Libunao, acting provincial director of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office, said a report submitted to her identified the two neutralized drug suspects as Ace Gonzales, a resident of Barangay Bitungol, Norzagaray, Bulacan, who was included in the drug watch list of Norzagaray Municipal Police Station; and Richard Delara, alias "Tuklaw", of Meycauayan City.
Libunao said the buy-bust operation against Gonzales took place around 11:30 p.m. Thursday in Barangay Bitungol.
During the transaction, the suspect sensed that he was transacting with police officers and so, he drew his .38-caliber revolver and fired several shots at the operatives, who were forced to retaliate, that caused his death, she said.
Recovered from the crime scene were five plastic sachets of shabu, one .38-caliber revolver without trademark and serial number, four live ammunition and two empty shells, five empty shells from caliber 9mm firearm, buy-bust money and assorted drug paraphernalia.
On the other hand, she said that Delara was neutralized following a buy-bust operation in Barangay Pandayan, Meycauayan City, Bulacan around 1:50 a.m. on Friday.
Recovered from the crime scene were one .38-caliber revolver without trademark and serial number loaded with three ammunition; three .38-caliber fired cartridge cases; four 9mm fired cartridge cases, and four pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of shabu.
Meanwhile, Libunao said the 16 other drug suspects were nabbed in separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted by operatives in the towns of Obando, Angat, Santa Maria, and in the cities of Meycauayan, San Jose Del Monte, Malolos and Meycauayan.
She identified the arrested drug suspects as Ryan Raymundo, Jovith Balila, Randie Baltazar, Jayson Alano, Mark Anthony Yang, Jeffrey De Leon, Mark Luigi Villanueva, Jamelo Nogueras, Jhumar Cubcubin, Roberto Bongol, Bernabe Garbo, Mark NiAo Mabuyo, Alfred John Nolasco, Philip Pascual, Dexter Pascual, and Robert Andaya.
