The Police Regional Office in Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) nabbed 64 persons during the observance of the Holy Week in Misamis Oriental province, a police official said Monday.
In an interview, Lt. Col. Michelle Olaivar, PRO-10 spokesperson, said regular police operations continued amid the peaceful observance of the Holy Week.
Of those arrested, the Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office (MORPPO) said 19 were wanted persons, 34 for anti-illegal gambling, seven for anti-illegal drugs, three for search warrants,and one for illegal firearms.
The arrests were recorded from April 11 to 17.
“We hope that we will continue to be vigilant in our environment. Report immediately to us what you think is vital or may affect the maintenance of peace and order and security of the region,” Olaivar said.
She also asked for the public’s full cooperation in achieving a peaceful May 9 national and local polls in the region.
“Let’s always continue helping one another. You can trust your police that we will do our best to protect you,” Olaivar said.
