Vice presidential candidate and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte on Monday urged the public to honor the electoral process and respect the results of the May 9 elections.
All of us should respect whatever the results of the election will be and let us support those who will win, those elected by the Filipino voters),” Duterte said in a media interview.
Duterte also expressed hope for the holding of an “honest, orderly and peaceful elections” next week.
As the country commemorated Labor Day on Sunday, Duterte assured the public that she would promote the welfare of Filipino workers if she wins the elections.
“We will continue to push for the implementation of workers’ rights in our country,” she said.
She also reiterated her call for Filipinos to get their booster vaccine against the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
To all our fellow Filipinos, I would just like to remind you to get booster shots, or the third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. It would be a big help because if you contract the disease, the case wouldn’t be severe or critical and there is no need for hospital care),” she said.
According to the latest Pulse Asia survey, Duterte is still the frontrunner in the vice presidential race with a 55-percent voter preference.
Duterte garnered the majority of support across geographic areas with 51 percent in the National Capital Region (NCR), 46 percent in Balance Luzon, 50 percent in Visayas and 80 percent in Mindanao
