Fernando-Castro tandem leads in Bulacan polls


Reelectionist Governor Daniel Fernando is poised to win his second term as he takes a big lead over his rivals based on the partial and unofficial results on Tuesday.

As per results released by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) which represents 98.54 percent of the province’s election returns as of 11:47 a.m., Fernando garnered 974,069 votes, which is way ahead of his toughest opponent Vice Governor Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado, who got 577,087 votes.

They were followed by Pancho Valerio, who got 23,043 votes, Datu Adam Ocampo (10,824), and Kaka Ernesto Balite (10,279).

Meanwhile, Fernando’s tandem, Board Member Alex Castro is also leading in the vice gubernatorial race with 747,079 votes, followed by former Governor Jonjon Mendoza with 615,242 votes and Salvador Violago in third with 178,372 votes.

On the other hand, the partial and unofficial results for representatives of the province’s six districts as of 10:32 a.m. were: Lawyer Danny Domingo with 202,712 votes against incumbent Congressman Jonathan Sy-Alvarado with 140,798 votes in the first district; Tina Pancho with 137,276 votes against Freddie Bermudez’s 24,936 votes in the second district; Rep. Lorna Silverio with 129,256 votes against 54,606 votes of Jessie Viceo for the third district; Linabelle Villarica with 180,067 votes against Guardiano Raquel’s 11,476 votes for the fourth district; and Guiguinto Mayor Ambrocio Boy Cruz Jr., who has 127,740 votes against Arnel Alcaraz with 112,597 votes for the fifth district;

Ador Pleyto got 81,307 votes against 76,430 votes of Norzagaray Mayor Fred Germar for the sixth district; and for the lone district of San Jose del Monte City, Florida Robes got 136,680 votes against the 76,192 of Reynaldo San Pedro.

Meanwhile, mayors who are sure to win in this province based on the 100 percent election returns as of 12:02 p.m. are Jowar Bautista (Angat); Eladio Gonzales (Balagtas); Ferdie Estrella (Baliwag); Jonjon Villanueva (Bocaue); Vergel Meneses (Bulakan); Iskul Juan (Bustos), Lem Faustino (Calumpit); Christian Natividad (Malolos City);

Lawyer Henry Villarica (Maycauayan City); Arthur Robes, (City of San Jose del Monte); Ronaldo T. Florez (Doña Remedios Trinidad); Agay Cruz (Guiguinto); Baby Manlapaz (Hagonoy); Ricky Silvestre (Marilao); Merlyn Germar (Norzagaray); Mayor Ding Valeda (Obando); Rico Roque (Pandi); Ann Marcos (Paombong); Jocell Vistan (Plaridel); Maritz Montejo (Pulilan); Gazo Galvez (San Ildefonso); Roderick Tiongson (San Miguel); Cholo Violago (San Rafael); and Omeng Ramos (Santa Maria).
