BBM, Sara win big in Zamboanga City

Former senator and presidential aspirant Ferdinand Marcos Jr., and his running mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, won by huge margins against their respective rivals in this southern port city.

Esnaen Catong, Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) regional president, said Wednesday Marcos led by as much as 170,683 votes against his closest rival by garnering 226,081 votes.

Marcos is the national chairperson of PFP while Duterte belongs to the Lakas-CMD party. They ran under the UniTeam banner.

Marcos Jr.’s closest rival, Vice President Maria Leonor Robredo obtained 55,398 votes, while Senator Emmanuel Pacquiao was third with 25,955.

“This is the official result coming from the Comelec (Commission on Elections),” Catong said in a press conference here.

In the vice-presidential tally, Catong said Duterte got 250,528 votes leading by a margin of 216,057 in the vice presidential race against closest rival, Senator Francis Pangilinan.

He said Pangilinan got 34,471 votes while Senator Vicente Sotto III is close in third place with 33,564.

“This election result is reflective of the poll surveys conducted locally,” he said.

Monday’s elections here were conducted in 120 polling centers with 638 voting precincts. The city has a total of 403,464 registered voters.
