7-day anti-crime ops net 40 ‘most wanted’ in N. Mindanao

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: At least 302 suspects were arrested while PHP1.6 million worth of illegal drugs were seized during the Police Regional Office–Northern Mindanao’s (PRO-10) first “One-time, big-time (OTBT)” weeklong operations for the year.

Brig. Gen. Lawrence Coop, PRO-10 director, said the OTBT also facilitated the serving of warrants of arrest as well as the conduct of anti-Illegal drug operations from Jan. 23 to 29.

Armed with arrest warrants, police arrested 197 personalities comprising 40 “most wanted” persons and 157 other hunted offenders.

“I hope this will serve as a reminder to all law offenders to stop doing any illegal activities as PRO-10 continues to implement its anti-criminality operations without let-up,” Coop said in a statement Monday.

In the illegal drugs campaign, PRO-10 operatives arrested 105 personalities, resulting in the confiscation of illegal shabu worth over PHP1.6 million.

One of the biggest drug operations conducted this month involves the seizure of PHP510,000 worth of shabu in Barangay Canitoan here.
