Army Welcomes Morale-Boosting Visit from President Marcos to 3ID Troops

Negros occidental: The recent visit of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to Negros Occidental and Antique serves as an inspiration to Philippine Army troops in fulfilling their duties, 3rd Infantry Division (ID) commander Maj. Gen. Michael Samson said on Wednesday.

According to Philippines News Agency, at the 303rd Infantry Brigade in Murcia, Negros Occidental on Monday, the Chief Executive was welcomed by Samson and brigade commander Brig. Gen. Ted Dumosmog, together with battalion commanders of Army units across Negros Island. Earlier in the day, Brig. Gen. Nhel Richard Patricio, commander of the 301st Infantry Brigade, was among the security officials who received the President in Antique.

In a statement Wednesday, Samson expressed that the President's presence in Negros Occidental and Antique, particularly in leading projects that advance progress and opportunity, emphasizes the alignment of government forces' work with the promotion of the welfare of the people. He noted that the visit inspires the troops to perform their duties with renewed vigor, recognizing that every effort contributes to the peace and development of communities.

Samson further stated that the President's visit highlights the government's commitment not only to development but also to strengthening the partnership between civilian communities and security forces. During his time in Negros Occidental, Marcos inspected the Sum-ag Water Treatment Plant operated by Bacolod Bulk Water Inc. in Barangay Salvacion, Murcia. In addition, the President led the inauguration of the Antique Airport Development Project at Evelio B. Javier Airport in San Jose de Buenavista town.
