Bicol’s No. 1 Most Wanted Person falls in Cavite

BACOOR CITY, Cavite -- Joined police operatives from this city and Caramoran, Catanduanes captured the No. 1 Most Wanted Person with three counts of rape in his hideout in Barangay Niog 1 in this city, a police report said Wednesday.

Bacoor City police chief, Superintendent Christopher Olazo with city cops Senior Police Officer 2 (SPO2 Joel Malinao, SPO1 Rodolfo Arboleda and SPO1 Christopher Amon, launched their joint operations with Caramoan policemen SPO2 Willie Dulay, PO2 Ryan Bien and PO1 Ronnie de Quiro in arresting Edwin Villegas Navata, 47, construction worker and native of Guiamlong, Catanduanes who settled in Niog 1 village to elude arrest.

The arrest warrant was issued by acting Presiding Judge Lelu P. Contreras of the Regional Trial Court (RTC Branch 42 of Virac, Catanduanes.

Navata was tagged by cops as the No. 1 Most Wanted Person in Catanduanes province in the Bicol Region where he is known to be a serial rapist.

The rape suspect was surprised on his arrest and declined to speak to the media.

According to the Catanduanes municipal police, Navata is facing charges for three counts of rape with no bail recommended by the judge.

He was immediately turned over to the Catandauanes cops for custody and was transported back to Caramoran, Catanduanes to face court trial.
