CALAMBA CITY, Laguna-- Operatives of the city's police force nabbed the No. 1 in the illegal drugs watchlist of the city in a buy-bust operation at Sub-village Masikap (formerly Taclaban) Real Village here, Wednesday afternoon.
Police Superintendent Fernando R. Ortega, officer-in-charge of this city's police station, said that the team led by Police Inspector Jose Mari Pena conducted a buy-bust operation in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) starting 1:20 p.m. that resulted in the arrest of Enojario Dola Amlon alias Ninoy, 32, a native of Samar province and resident of nearby Parian Village in this city.
Ortega said that Amlon is tagged No. 1 in the illegal drugs watchlist in this city.
During the arrest, village police (barangay tanod) members identified the arrested suspect who was last seen in another village selling a motorcycle which was later confiscated for lack of proper documents and without plate number.
Also confiscated from the possession of the suspect were eight heat sealed plastic sachets containing crystals suspected as "shabu" or methamphetamine hydrochloride, two live ammunition for caliber 38 revolver, a black inside leather holster, a gray waist bag and the Php 500 marked money.
The operatives failed to locate the firearm believed to be owned by the suspect.
The suspect and the recovered pieces of evidence were brought to the regional police crime laboratory for drug testing and laboratory tests.
Proper charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 or Republic Act 9165 are being prepared for filing in court.
