Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will be experienced over Metro Manila, Cordillera and Central Luzon regions, as well as Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Rizal and Quezon provinces, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said inits 24-hour forecast released Thursday afternoon.
Cloudy skies with light rains will prevail over Ilocos Region and rest of Cagayan Valley.
“Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected over rest of the country,” PAGASA said.
Tail-end of a cold front is affecting the eastern section of Northern and Central Luzon.
PAGASA also said the northeast monsoon or “amihan” is affecting extreme Northern Luzon.
Moderate to strong winds from the east to northeast will prevail over Northern Luzon where coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
“Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast over the rest of the country with slight to moderate seas,” PAGASA noted.
According to the State weather bureau, strong to gale-force winds associated with “amihan” may affect Northern Luzon’s northern and western seaboards covering Batanes province, Calayan and Babuyan islands, northern coast of Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union and Pangasinan provinces.
Expected 52 kph to 63 kph winds can fan there rough to very rough seas with waves up to 4.5 meters high, PAGASA also said in its gale warning 22 released Thursday afternoon.
“Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves,” it added.
