MANILA– Cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Mindanao and Eastern Visayas Region, said Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) in its 24-hourforecast released Wednesday afternoon (April 5).
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will prevail over Ilocos, Cagayan Valley and Cordillera regions as well as Central Luzon.
PAGASA likewise forecast partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila and rest of the country.
The northeast monsoon or ‘amihan’ is affecting Northern and Central Luzon while tail-end of a cold front is affecting eastern sections of the Visayas and Mindanao.
“Moderate to strong winds from the northeast to east will prevail over Northern Luzon and coming from the northeast over the Visayas and rest of Luzon and coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough,” said PAGASA.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming fromthe northeast with slight to moderate seas.
Strong to gale-force winds associated with ‘amihan’ already weakened.
Expected 30 kph to 40 kph winds may affect the Visayas’ eastern seaboard covering northern and eastern coasts of the Samar provinces.
Such winds may fan there moderate to rough seas and waves up to 2.5 meters high.
“Fishing boats and other small seacraft are alerted against moderate to rough seas,” PAGASA added.
