MANILA-- Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Mindanao and regions of Eastern and Central Visayas, said Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) inits 24-hour forecast released Tuesday afternoon.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will prevail over rest of the Visayas.
Tail-end of a cold front is also affecting eastern sections of the Visayas and Mindanao.
PAGASA also forecast cloudy skies with light rains over Luzon's Cagayan Valley, the Cordilleras and provinces of Aurora and Quezon.
Metro Manila and rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.
The northeast monsoon or 'amihan' is also affecting Luzon.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast to east will prevail throughout the archipelago where coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
PAGASA likewise said strong to gale-force winds associated with 'amihan' may affect Northern Luzon's northern seaboard covering Batanes province, Calayan and Babuyan islands and northern coasts of Cagayan and Ilocos Norte provinces.
Such winds may also affect Southern Luzon's western and eastern seaboards as well as the Samar provinces' northern and eastern seaboards, PAGASA said further in its gale warning 5 released Tuesday afternoon.
Such seaboards cover Cuyo Island, Coron Island, southern coast of the Mindoro provinces, eastern coast of Quezon including Polillo Island, the Camarines provinces, Catanduanes, eastern coasts of Albay and Sorsogon, northern and eastern coast of Northern Samar and eastern coast of Eastern Samar.
Expected 52 kph to 63 kph winds can fan, in the seaboards cited, rough to very rough seas and waves up to 4.5 meters high.
"Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves," PAGASA added.
