MANILA– Cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over the Visayas and Caraga Region, said Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) in its 24-hourforecast released Tuesday afternoon (April 4).
PAGASA also forecast cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley and Cordillera regions.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will prevail over Metro Manila and rest of Luzon.
Rest of Mindanao may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
PAGASA said the northeast monsoon or ‘amihan’ is affecting Luzon while tail-end of a cold front is affecting the Visayas.
Moderate to strong winds from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and the Visayas while coastal waters in theseareas will be moderate to rough.
“Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas,” PAGASA also said.
Strong to gale-force winds associated with ‘amihan’is forecast to affect the eastern Visayan seaboard, northern seaboard of Northern Luzon as well as eastern and western seaboards of Southern Luzon.
The seaboards cover northern and eastern coasts of the Samar provinces, northern coast of Ilocos Norte, eastern coast of Quezon including Polillo Island, Catanduanes, the Camarines provinces, eastern coasts of Albay and Sorsogon as well as southern coast of the Mindoro provinces, PAGASA said in its gale warning 8 released Tuesday afternoon.
Expected 52 kph to 63 kph winds can fan there rough to very rough seas and waves up to 4.5 meters high.
“Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture into sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves,” PAGASA added.
