MANILA-- Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will prevail over Ilocos, Cordillera, Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon regions, said Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) in its 24-hour forecast released Thursday afternoon (March 16).
PAGASA also forecast partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and rest of the country.
The northeast monsoon or 'amihan' is affecting Northern and Central Luzon.
"Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Northern Luzon and the eastern section of central and southern Luzon and of Eastern Visayas," PAGASA continued.
Coastal waters there will be moderate to rough.
"Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas," PAGASA said.
According to PAGASA, 'amihan' weakened already but expected 30 kph to 40 kph winds can fan in Northern Luzon's northern seaboard moderate to rough seas and waves up to 2.5 meters high.
The seaboard covers Batanes, Calayan and Babuyan islands, Ilocos Norte and northern coast of Cagayan, PAGASA said in its gale warning 4 released Thursday afternoon.
"Fishing boats and other small seacraft are alerted against moderate to rough seas," PAGASA added.
