MANILA -- Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains, and possible occasionally heavy rains, gusty winds and lightning due to thunderstorms, will be experienced over Luzon and the Visayas, the state weather bureau, PAGASA, said in its 24-hour forecast released Thursday afternoon.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies, except for isolated light to occasionally heavy rains, gusty winds and lightning, will prevail over Mindanao, PAGASA added.
The southwest monsoon or 'habagat' is affecting Luzon's western section.
The bureau also located Tropical Depression Jolina at either 400 km. northeast of Catanduanes province's capital Virac municipality or 560 km. east of Aurora province's Casiguran municipality as of 3 p.m. Thursday.
'Jolina' was packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near its center and gustiness of up to 60 kph, and is expected to move west-northwestwards at 17 kph.
"Moderate to strong winds blowing from the south to southeast will prevail over Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough," PAGASA said.
Elsewhere in the country, winds will be light to moderate coming from the south to southwest with slight to moderate seas.
