Comelec-Davao Processes Over 107,000 Voter Applications Since October 2025

Davao: The Commission on Elections-Davao Region (Comelec-11) on Monday reported processing 107,069 voter applications since October 2025.

According to Philippines News Agency, Comelec-11 Assistant Director Gay Enumerables stated that the data encompasses new registrations, transfers, reactivations, and correction of entries.

Enumerables emphasized the importance of registration for first-time voters, especially those aged 15 to 17 eligible for the Sangguniang Kabataan elections, urging them to register before the May 18 deadline. To boost participation, Comelec teams have visited senior high schools to encourage young voters to register.

'We have registration in our offices and satellite sites in barangays and malls,' Enumerables said during a press briefing. She also mentioned that failing to vote in two consecutive elections could lead to the deactivation of voter registration. To accommodate the influx of applications, Comelec-11 offices are operating from Mondays to Saturdays, including holidays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The election period for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections, scheduled for November 2, will begin on September 28 with the filing of candidacy, which will conclude on October 5. The campaign period is set for October 22 to 31, and candidates must file their campaign contribution statements by December 2. Officials elected will commence their terms on December 1.
