MANILA The Civil Service Commission (CSC) will award government employees whose exemplary contributions deserve to be recognized through the 2018 Search for Outstanding Government Workers.
In a statement on Wednesday, CSC Chairperson Alicia Dela Rosa-Bala urged heads of government agencies to nominate their outstanding employees to the search.
Dela Rosa-Bala said search is an annual nationwide undertaking of the CSC to recognize government officials and employees who have displayed outstanding work performance.
There will be three awards for the winning employees or groups of employees the Presidential Lingkod Bayan award, the Dangal ng Bayan Award and the Pag-asa Award.
The Presidential Lingkod Bayan is conferred to an individual or a group for extraordinary contributions with nationwide impact while the Dangal ng Bayan Award is conferred to an individual who displays extraordinary public service and exemplary ethical behavior adhering to the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.
The Pag-asa Award, on the other hand, is given to an individual or group of individuals for outstanding contributions that directly benefit more than one department of the government.
To date, 2,696 government employees and officials have already been awarded through the annual search. They have come from various fields - education, sciences, agriculture, local governance, health care, army, fire protection, and disaster risk management, among others.
Dela Rosa-Bala said that the government will always have outstanding employees who are true to their oath of excellent public service.
We are certain that we will never run out of inspiring stories in the public service. We look forward to receiving more nominations from agencies this year, she said.
The nomination for potential candidates is open until the end of the month. The awarding ceremony will be part of CSC's anniversary celebration in September at the MalacaAang Palace.
