DILG chief to ‘drug queen’: Return to PH, face charges

MANILA Interior Secretary Eduardo AAo on Thursday called on Guia Gomez-Castro, the so-called 'drug queen' of Metro Manila, to return to the country and face the allegations against her.

Yes. Sagutin nya itong mga paratang sa kanya at kami rin magko-conduct din kami ng investigation even discreetly to know kung totoo ito, sino mga contacts niya. Alam mo naman, basta drugs, kailangan tapusin natin yan (Answer all the accusations against her and we will investigate even discreetly to know if this is true, who are her contacts. You know, if it's drugs, we need to end it), AAo told reporters on the sidelines of the turnover of motorcycles donated by the South Korean government to the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Camp Crame.

AAo also said the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) will file an administrative case against Castro, who served as chairwoman of Barangay 484, Zone 48 in Sampaloc, Manila.

Invite namin siya for the investigation and we will file appropriate administrative charges sa kanya bilang isang government official [We invite her for the investigation and we will file appropriate administrative charges against her as a government official], he said.

The DILG chief, however, assured that Castro will be given due process in the course of the investigation.

On Wednesday, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief, Maj. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar named Castro as the drug queen who is the mastermind of the recycling of seized illegal drugs by rogue police officers. (PNA)
