DOH to Launch Wellness Clinic in San Fernando City Mall

Davao city: The Department of Health in Ilocos Region (DOH-1) is set to open a wellness clinic at Robinsons Place in San Fernando City, La Union next month, as announced by an official on Monday. The clinic aims to provide accessible and convenient health services to the community.

According to Philippines News Agency, DOH-Ilocos Region Director Paula Paz Sydiongco stated that the clinic will offer free primary care and preventive health services. These services will include body mass index assessment, risk screening for non-communicable diseases, family planning, and HIV counseling. The initiative is part of efforts to enhance preventive care, early detection, and health promotion.

Scheduled services at the clinic will feature general and specialty consultations in various medical fields, including adult medicine, obstetrics, pediatrics, ophthalmology, senior citizen care, and mental health. The Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center will support the clinic by providing physician support, referrals, and facilitating PhilHealth YAKAP enrollment. Robinsons Land Corporation is contributing by providing the clinic space rent-free on the mall's third floor.

The wellness clinic will operate daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in line with mall hours. This initiative is part of a broader DOH effort to establish mall-based wellness clinics as supplementary primary care facilities.
