Down website no effect on voters’ registration: Comelec

MANILA The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Saturday said that the unavailability of its website, has no effect on the ongoing nationwide voter registration for the May 2019 midterm polls.

The current outage of the Comelec website has no effect on the ongoing registration of voters, Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said in a text message.

With this, the poll body official advised the public that registration forms are available at the local poll body office in their areas as well as on their Facebook page.

Registration application forms are available at Comelec Offices, and via the Comelec facebook page, he added.

The continuing registration for the May 2018 national and local polls started on July 2 and will run until Sept. 29.

Applications shall be personally filed at the Offices of the Election Officer (OEOs) of the city/district/municipality, where the applicant resides.

The OEOs are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays, including holidays.
