The draft of the executive order (EO) facilitating the return of four agencies under the control of the Department of Agriculture (DA) has already been handed to President Rodrigo Duterte for his scrutiny, Agriculture Secretary Manny PiAol said on Wednesday.
These agencies are the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority (FPA), the National Food Authority (NFA) and the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA).
PiAol bared that he submitted the draft of the EO last Friday during his meeting with the President.
"There is no timeline (when the EO will be signed) but on his instructions, I already submitted the executive order draft," he told reporters.
PiAol said President Duterte had instructed that the EO would be signed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.
The Presidential Assistant for Food Security and Agricultural Modernization (PAFSAM) has oversight responsibilities for the four agencies which were formerly under the purview of the DA.
Former Senator Francis Pangilinan was named as the first PAFSAM, which was created on May 5, 2014 by former President Benigno S. Aquino III.
