Engineer killed as tricycle collides with bus in Palawan

An engineer from Montalban, Rizal, lost his life Thursday afternoon in a collision between a top-down tricycle and an oncoming bus in San Vicente municipality, northern Palawan. The victim was identified by police investigators as Ryan Labo-Labo, 26. He was the backseat passenger of the top-down tricycle being driven by a minor from Parañaque, Metro Manila, according to Maj. Ric Ramos, information chief of the Palawan Provincial Police Office (PPO). During the investigation, it was discovered that the top-down tricycle was en route from Itabiak to Barangay Poblacion, San Vicente. As the driver approached a curved section of the road, he veered into the opposite lane and collided with an oncoming San Isidro bus. The bus was driven by Mauro Conde, age 40, from Roxas, Palawan. The bus had a temporary license plate, but he was able to present a valid driver's license. Both the driver of the top-down tricycle and his passenger, Labo-Labo, sustained injuries in the the collision. They were transported to the district hospital by the response team from the San Vicente Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, police said. However, despite efforts to revive Labo-Labo, he was later declared dead.
