FAMILY, THE DRIVING FORCE FOR SUCCESS – KLMUC VICE CHANCELLOR

BANGI, The role of the family institution as a catalyst for success is undeniable and forms the foundation of support for graduates to achieve even greater success.

Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan University College (KLMUC) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Syed Helmy Syed Abu Bakar said the triumph of the graduates also rewards the commitment and prayers of their parents and families who want to see their offspring succeed.

“The success of graduates is also the success of their parents and families who gave their unstinting support to ensure that the graduates achieved their ambitions,” he said in his opening speech at the 13th KLMUC Convocation ceremony here today.

The ceremony saw 621 students who have completed their diploma, degree and masters programmes receive their scrolls.

Prof Dr Syed Helmy advised all KLMUC graduates to respect their families who have stood by them at all times.

“The backbone of a family is crucial in our lives. Our success is also rooted because we have the support of our family. Today is the celebration for all our family members that come here and witness your success,” he said.

Nur Maahirah Abdul Raheem, 26, who completed a master’s degree in business management and won the Vice Chancellor’s Award said family support is central to determining success.

“My mum is a single mother after my father passed away eight years ago. She has been raising me and my two sisters.

“My mother’s support has always been there and still is. This is the secret of my success. Without my family I am nothing,” she said.

Nur Maahirah is working at Menara Maxis and plans to advance her career to greater heights.
