FM Cho to attend NATO meeting in Brussels next week

South Korea's top diplomat will participate in a meeting of North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) foreign ministers to be held in Belgium next week, his office said Friday. Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul will attend the session set to open Wednesday for a two-day run, which will be presided over by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. The upcoming gathering is expected to discuss the increasing security cooperation between Europe and the Indo-Pacific region amid the Ukrainian war, the growing military cooperation between North Korea and Russia and other global security challenges. South Korea was invited to the ministerial meeting as one of the non-NATO partners in the Indo-Pacific region, which include Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Source: Yonhap News Agency
