Full-blooded Bicolano is region’s new top cop

LEGAZPI CITY: A drug-free Bicol, heightened security along Maharlika highway, and maximum police visibility are on the agenda of Brig. Gen. Andre Perez Dizon, who formally assumed the post as acting regional director of the Police Regional Office 5 (PRO5) on Tuesday. During the turnover ceremony at Camp Simeon Ola, the PRO5 headquarters here, the new regional police official thanked President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Gen. Benjamin Acorda for the trust and chance to lead the men and women of PRO5. "I will give my best in serving the Bicol region. I will not fail the President of the Republic of the Philippines who approved my designation...This regional police office will continue to support the present government in upholding the Constitution and obeying the duly constituted authorities. Our solid commitment to professionally performing our mandate will be seen and felt by our constituents and partners in government and private agencies," Dizon said. He said the PRO5 will continue programs aligned with the PNP's 5-focus agenda: Aggressive and Honest Law Enforcement Operations, Community Engagement, Personnel Morale and Welfare, Integrity Enhancement and Information and Communication Technology Development. The new PRO5 director urged the personnel of the regional police to do their jobs well and support him in his journey to serve his fellow Bicolanos. "Bilang bagong ama ng Team Kasurog Cops, samahan niyo ako sa aking paglalakbay at pagsusumikap na mabigayan ng mas maayos at mas mahusay na serbisyo ang ating bayan. Makakasama niyo po ako at malalapitan ano man oras, ano mang araw (As the new father of Team Kasurog Cops, join me in my journey and efforts to provide better services to our people. I will be with you and you can come to me, any time and any day.) May the great Architect of the universe continue to bless, guide, and keep us all," he said. Dizon, a full-blooded and proud Bicolano from the province of Sorsogon, is a member of the Philippine National Police Ac ademy's Sandigan Class of 1994. He replaced Brig. Gen.
