Eight government choral groups will compete in the grand finals night of the 6th Government Choral Competition on September 13 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Main Theater, Pasay City.
The semi-finalists for Luzon are the DasmariAas City Teachers Chorale and the Pangasinan Provincial Chorale; for Visayas, the Guimaras Capitol Chorale; for Mindanao, the Bayugan City Educators Chorale, Tagum City Chamber Chorale, and the Davao City Teachers Choir; and for the National Capital Region, the Bangko Sentral Singers and Pag-IBIG Fund Chorale.
Pilipinas Got Talent winner Jovit Baldivino and the Silly Peoples Improv Theater will render intermission numbers, while broadcaster Kara David and actor Garry Lim will serve as the Masters of Ceremonies.
For the past years, the Government Choral Competition has served as a venue for celebrating Filipino arts and culture, and introducing original Filipino compositions to the audience. The competition also showcases the talent of public servants from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Organized by the Civil Service Commission, in partnership with the CCP and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, the 6th Government Choral Competition is one of the major events of the 116th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary this September. The theme of this year’s celebration, “Sigaw ng Lingkod Bayani: Malasakit Para sa Taumbayan, Kapwa Kawani, at Kalikasan”, emphasizes the value ofmalasakit or compassion with action for our health, the environment, deserving public servants, and the Filipino
