Kidapawan designates isolation facility Covid-19 patients

The Kidapawan City government has set aside 50 classrooms of the Kidapawan City Pilot Elementary School (KCPES) to serve as an isolation facility for coronavirus diseases (Covid-19) patients.

Lawyer Paolo Evangelista, Kidapawan City information officer, said the establishment of the isolation facility is part of the measures to prevent the potential spread of Covid-19.

“Each of these 50 standard isolation rooms has comfort rooms where a patient could use during the 14-day quarantine period,” Evangelista said.

School classes at all levels in the city have been suspended earlier this month due to the threats of the disease. As of Thursday, Kidapawan City has two Covid-19 patients, while 159 are persons under monitoring (PUM).

Evangelista said 16 of the PUMs have completed their 14-day self-quarantine. Evangelista said that Kidapawan City so far remains Covid-19 free.

Evangelista appealed to Kidapaweños who have recently traveled to Manila or in countries where Covid-19 was reported to come forward and submit themselves for quarantine.

He also called on city residents to report to barangay officials if they know of someone, a neighbor or an acquaintance, who has symptoms of the diseases so appropriate health protocols can be applied.
