LPA, ‘habagat’ to bring cloudy skies, rains Saturday

Parts of the country will have overcast skies and some rains on Saturday, brought by a low-pressure area (LPA) and the southwest monsoon, locally known as “habagat”.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA was last spotted 140 km. north-northwest of Dagupan City in Pangasinan.

The LPA and “habagat” will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Metro Manila, the Visayas, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Zamboanga Peninsula, Pangasinan, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino, the report said.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms brought by the “habagat” and localized thunderstorms.

Light to moderate winds headed southwest to southeast will prevail over Luzon and the Visayas, with slight to moderate coastal waters.

On the other hand, winds in Mindanao will have similar conditions but headed south, with slight to moderate coastal waters.

The temperature in Metro Manila will range from 24°C to 28°C; Laoag City, 25°C to 32°C; Baguio City, 17°C to 23°C; Metro Cebu, 24°C to 30°C; and Metro Davao, 25°C to 30°C
