LTO to Issue Show-Cause Orders to Unruly Drivers in Northern Mindanao

Sagay city: The Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Region 10, Northern Mindanao, is set to issue show-cause orders to drivers exhibiting unruly behavior during the holiday season. This initiative is part of the agency's effort to encourage the public to report reckless drivers.

According to Philippines News Agency, LTO-10 Director Nelson Manaloto emphasized the agency's zero-tolerance stance on reckless and dangerous road behavior. He highlighted a recent incident on December 29, involving a white Isuzu pickup in a road rage episode. The driver brandished a firearm and made offensive gestures towards other motorists, which Director Manaloto labeled as serious violations that endanger lives.

Manaloto stated that such behavior is unacceptable and stressed the agency's commitment to swiftly and decisively addressing these issues to protect the commuting public. The issuance of show-cause orders allows the drivers in question to explain their actions and make necessary corrections before the LTO-10 decides on potential revocation of their licenses.

He further reminded the public that driving is a privilege that requires discipline, patience, and emotional control. The LTO-10 is urging motorists to prioritize safety, exercise restraint, and adhere to traffic laws to prevent accidents and maintain order on the roads.
