MALAYSIA FUTURE LEADERS SCHOOL HELPS BUILD EXCEPTIONAL MALAYSIA – KBS SEC-GEN

The Malaysia Future Leaders School (MFLS) programme organised by the Institute of Leadership Development and Excellence (i-LEAD) under the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) can help build an exceptional Malaysia, says KBS secretary-general Dr K. Nagulendran.

He said programmes such as the MFLS could nurture quality leadership among the country’s youths, adding the programme has accomplished so much where all the participants have been very active and gained a lot of knowledge.

"Many (of the achievements) are beyond expectation and this makes us excited to continue organising the programme for years to come," he said when met after officiating at the closing ceremony of the 2023 MFLS tier three programme here, today.

The training programme that kicked off on May 5 was held face-to-face with 150 participants consisting of selected participants of the MFLS tier two programme held in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

The participants underwent a screening process and an interview session carried out across the country from March 17 to 21.

Meanwhile, KBS in a statement today said the tier three programme was aimed at increasing participants' knowledge and understanding based on seven elements, namely leadership, character and identity formation, nationhood, entrepreneurship, volunteerism, communication and internationalisation.

The activities included dialogue sessions, high-impact communication, sharing sessions, discourse on nationhood, sports carnival, volunteering as well as visits to Parliament and Asean Cultural Heritage.

It said the slots were designed to provide direct exposure to the participants in line with the elements inculcated throughout the programme.
