More buses will now be able to bring passengers from Cagayan to Tuguegarao and Manila and vice versa.
On Tuesday, Partas Company offered free rides after the blessing of its 15 units which will ply the Santa Teresita, Cagayan to Tuguegarao and Tuguegarao to Pasay City routes and vice versa, at the Robinsons Mall here.
Partas Company is owned by the family of Narvacan, Ilocos Sur Mayor Luis Chavit Singson, who is the national president of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP).
We are not here for the competition but to offer public service, Singson said as he shrugged off any business rivalry talks with two other transport companies, Victory Liner and Florida Bus that also cater to passengers plying the route.
Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board regional director Edward Cabase said the company had been qualified after it met the board's documentary requirements.
Aside from its new Cagayan Valley route, Partas Transportation Co. Inc. is also catering 24/7 to passengers in the Cordilleras, particularly in Baguio City, Bangued, Abra, and also in Occidental Mindoro and Bicol Region in Naga City.
The company has also been offering deluxe buses with 28 to 49 seats to tourists on a chartered service basis.
