LENGGONG, In a bid to highlight the offerings of the Lenggong Geopark, which is on track to receive UNESCO Global Geopark (UGGp) status, the inaugural Perak Agrotourism Carnival 2024 (PAC 2024) will take place in the Lenggong district. Perak State Agriculture Development Corporation (Perak SADC) chief executive officer, Datuk Yahanis Yahya, said that the carnival, held for the first time over three days from May 17 to May 19, is packed with various programmes and activities that will provide visitors with an extraordinary experience. "The uniqueness and special attractions throughout Perak will be brought together for the first time in the PAC 2024 Carnival organised by the Perak SADC in conjunction with Visit Perak Year 2024," he told reporters here. He mentioned that various enticing offers are also arranged for visitors, including an agrotourism exhibition offering discounts of up to 40 per cent from tourism agencies, agro recreation centres, extreme sports operators, as well as leading hotels and resor ts. This includes the 'Explore Nature Kampungku' package, which covers visits to 24 cultural and historical sites in the three main cities of Perak - Kuala Kangsar, Lenggong and Taiping - over three days and two nights at a special price. For tourism products in Lenggong, visitors can enjoy special packages offered by Suka-Suka Lake Retreat which provides accommodation in traditional Perak houses, along with country-style cuisine and a delightful rural ambience. Additionally, Rumah Ayah An Rusa and Kelulut offer discounted packages for electric bicycle rides through the villages and caves around the Lenggong Geopark. Also available is the 'A Day in Lenggong Valley' package, allowing visitors to explore this World Heritage Site and marvel at the beauty of stalactites and stalagmites, enjoy local cuisine and breathe in the fresh air in the countryside. Visitors can also experience the nostalgia of the D'Bendang Chalet farmers in the comfort of fully equipped facilities, amidst the vast expanse of paddy fie lds, at special prices. Yahanis added that PAC 2024 aims to boost the increasingly popular agrotourism industry among tourists who appreciate greenery and wish to enjoy responsible vacations in line with the Perak Sejahtera 2030 Agenda under the Food Basket Valley Flagship (Food Security) under the Agrotourism Hub programme. This carnival, supported by the Perak Government, also receives cooperation from Tourism Perak, the Lenggong District Council, the Lenggong Tourism Council and the Hulu Perak District and Land Office.
